Chuck's
Academic and Professional Background
|
A highly qualified leader and planner, Chuck
obtained a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale, a
Masters in Urban & Regional Planning from the Woodrow Wilson
School of Public & International Affairs at Princeton and a J.D.
from the NYU School of Law.
Since that time, Chuck Schorr Lesnick has
served in government, working with many significant political
leaders from Yonkers, New York and Westchester. This
includes working for former Governor Mario Cuomo,
Congresswoman Nita Lowey, the City of Yonkers, and the United
States Department of Housing & Urban Development. As the Director of
Economic Development for the City of Yonkers, Chuck fought to
secure funds to begin the waterfront redevelopment and
restoration of the historic downtown pier nearly 20 years ago.
In the mid 1990's Chuck took a break from
government and entered the private sector, working as an
executive with several property management and affordable
housing development corporations. This experience benefits him
in his current professional endeavors - in addition to serving
as Council President, Chuck is a private practice lawyer in
Yonkers specializing in Historic Façade Conservation Easement
Deductions. Through this work, he is able to improve the
quality of communities by helping property owners of historic
buildings to obtain tax deductions and other assistance to
restore and/or maintain their properties. To learn more

Chuck also maintains a general practice in co-op and condo
law, real estate transactions and commercial development.
